The mahogany trees are in bloom and the tiny flowers are everywhere, a carpet spread wide. At the slightest touch of a breeze, they fall, sounding like water dripping from the leaves. Their scent is heady and the day and night are filled with the perfume.
I wonder; are there creature noises that come with the bloomings and scents?
ReplyDeleteNot really,@cats in the window, no special noises associated with mahogany blooms.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely, I don't think I've ever smelt the perfume of a mahogany flower - do they have a short flowering period and is it a light perfume or an overpowering one?
ReplyDeleteBimbimbie, the flowering period is for around 2 to 3 weeks and the perfume is sort of light, except if it rains and the huge numbers of them on the ground start going off, when the perfume is overpowering!
